Mentorship Match-Up Now Available |
|
|
The Mentorship Match-Up Program is back. It provides members with valuable opportunities for personal and professional growth through focused, one-to-one networking sessions with thought leaders in the sector.
Mentorship is offered as a benefit of membership with the association. Many of the mentors in the program may be known to the mentees by reputation. And every participating mentee will have an equal chance to book a mentorship session with any mentor.
Typically, a mentorship session is 60 minutes in length. That hour is a unique and rare time in which the mentor’s undivided attention is focused on the mentee’s discussion topics. For the mentee, it’s a learning and relationship opportunity possibly unequaled in any other networking setting.
Mentees greatly value this opportunity to choose mentors and match themselves with the industry leaders they want to meet; the experienced individuals a young learner believes will offer insights and guidance highly relevant to their career development.
When a mentoring session is booked by a mentee within our mentorship website, the system delivers a confirmation email to both the mentor and the mentee. Mentees are responsible for following up by directly contacting their selected mentors; ensuring the times and locations/methods for mentoring sessions are mutually established and that the meetings occur.
After booking sessions, each mentee can log in 24/7 on the mentorship website to view a personalized summary page called ‘My Sessions’. This page stores all the information from the mentee’s bookings: selected mentors, the meeting dates, and the mentors’ authorized contact information. All in one convenient place online, and available in seconds.
Note: some mentors are open to acting as Coaches taking on an active relationship with one or two mentees, whereas others are interested in being an Advisor that helps mentees solve a specific problem(s) or discuss a certain issue over 1 or 2 sessions. Registration Instructions

There’s something to be said for staying in your own lane. It’s not about limitation, but wisdom—the kind that comes from knowing your work, your place, and your purpose. Life is vast, and everyone is bound to their own path. There’s a truth that settles into you when you realize you don’t need to be everywhere at once, or do everything. It’s enough to tend to your own garden, to till the soil beneath your feet, and let the neighbor do the same.
You see it in the fields, where each plant has its row, its space to grow. When a plant starts reaching into another’s, all you get is tangled roots, choking each other out. No good comes from it. Each stalk must grow straight, not toward another’s light, but toward its own sun.
Marcus Aurelius understood this: “The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts.” What we choose to focus on is what shapes us. If you’re always glancing at what others are doing, worrying over their successes or failures, you lose sight of your own path. Aristotle added, “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” Knowing yourself is the key to staying in your lane, where your strengths and passions lie, not in chasing after someone else’s dreams.
So, let others run their course. Stay firm in your lane, not out of fear of failing, but out of respect for the work before you. |
